Yellow Jacket Social Club -a hip hideout on the east side.

There is nothing quite like sitting on the patio on a beautiful Austin morning soaking in the sunshine, enjoying some drinks and good food with friends.  And one of my favorite places in Austin is Yellow Jacket Social Club. A hip hideout situated on the east side.

My best friend lives on the east side and is a regular at this neighborhood bar. But on the weekends they put out their brunch menu and it turns into the perfect stop for some gossip over french toast and mimosas.

The patio is sprawling as you make your way to a vacant table. It’s also dog friendly so it’s perfect to bring your four legged friend after a fun walk around the neighborhood.

We made our way to a table tucked in the back and slunk into the seats so we could people watch and plot our brunch adventure.

They of course have a delicious brunch offering, which if I’m being honest is what drives 99.9% of my decisions these days.

And with food on our minds we decided we would split two items so we could maximize the things we could try.

We ordered the Pork Belly which was made with Brown Sugar & Spice rubbed belly with an over easy egg on hash cake.

And then we went with the French Toast made with cognac custard & date bread pudding, grilled, served with bacon and fresh fruit. It came out looking like perfection and it tasted even better, it was the perfect entree to pair with the pork belly on hash.

I love french toast, I can’t get enough of it. When it is on the menu all bets are off, and this french toast, this was one of the best I have ever had.
