Welcoming Guild to North Lamar

From the team behind Austin favorites like Wu Chow and Swifts Attic comes Guild. A seafood forward restaurant featuring a raw bar and open kitchen, with an emphasis on service.

Guild is one of Austin’s most anticipated new restaurant openings. I think partly because of the excitement that the team had created through pop ups leading up to the official opening and partly because we’re all such fans of the other restaurants in their portfolio.

It’s going into a space and part of town that is up and coming, flanking one of the corners of the Kendra Scott building on North Lamar. It takes over a significant amount of real estate which in return offers diners both inside and outside seating to accommodate whatever mood you’re feeling.

So when my friend Shelby and I were invited in to try the menu, we were excited and hopeful that the new restaurant would live up to its expectations. And it did. It’s definitely on the pricy side, but you get what you pay for. The fish and shellfish are all sourced from the best, and the preparation of the dishes by head chef Sterling Ridings and team only elevate the ingredients to new heights.

It’s an exciting menu, and on it you’ll find Oyster Sabayon, a warm oyster dish prepared with purple pea and ginger apple. We also had the Sunflower Porridge, made with sunflower seeds which mimics an oatmeal or risotto texture served with braised sun choke and pan roasted prawns. Other favorites were the ceviche and crudo, and of course a platter of fresh raw oysters.

Currently open for dinner, they will be expanding their service offerings soon.

Help me welcome Guild, and make yourself a reservation!
