Vivo Austin -delicious drink specials, tasty appetizers.
It’s Happy Hour at Vivo Austin. An Austin favorite has a new location in The Linc, and is still serving up their same great margaritas and tacos. I headed in to check it out with a few friends for happy hour after work. The new location is located by Highland Mall.
Vivo is a Modern Tex Mex restaurant that is serving up lunch, dinner, and brunch on Sundays and Mondays (11a-3p). Upon walking in you are greeted by the owners who have poured passion and life into this new location that hints at the original, but is also a fresh new location for patrons to enjoy.
With delicious drink specials, tasty appetizers and a vision of bowls of queso, we were looking forward to checking out this Austin favorite for their happy hour.
Vivo is known for a few things. Making the most colorful, and beautiful margaritas is one of them. And don’t worry, they go heavy on the tequila so you’re sure to walk away happy during their happy hour special ($5)!
I think the way they layer the flavors and decorate the glasses makes these some of the most unique margaritas I have ever had. I ordered a prickly pear margarita rimmed with sugar, it was a perfect way to settle into some laughter with some friends after a long day at work.
Because it was happy hour they had select appetizers for $5 also, so for about $15 you can have some food, and a couple of drinks. And the more friends you bring, the more apps and snacks you can try!
We were curious what Californian Nachos were, so we took a plunge to try them. They were made with alfalfa sprouts, big slices of tomato, pico de gallo, refried beans, monterrey jack cheese and we added grilled shrimp to the order. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a happy hour with friends.
Vivo makes amazing food, and with so much on the menu, we were having a hard time just choosing one thing. So we all agreed to order a little bit of everything. On the spread below you’ll see bean and cheese nachos with picadillo, 2 for $5 tacos, queso (of course!) and quesadillas.
There were 5 of us and the amount of food we ordered was perfect for our group. Vivo kept the drinks coming, and the chip basket full. Happy Hour is already a special time and Vivo helps elevate that experience.
If you haven’t been to the new Vivo or you haven’t been at all, now is your time! They’re open for business, and with the weather cooling off you can sit on their outside patio, kick back, and enjoy great Tex Mex fare.
