Stop what you’re doing! If you live near Seattle, plan to make Toulouse Petit your next meal. And if you don’t live near Seattle, make sure this place gets added to your ‘must check out list.’
Toulouse Petit is known by their hip cajun creole food and vibe. And you immediately feel it upon walking into this beautiful restaurant at the corner of Queen Anne and West Mercer Street.
Big wooden doors and windows greet you as old gothic lights are hung both outside and inside in deep shades of red. There are mosaics of tile on the floors, and tealights(250 to be exact!) on very thin shelves adorning every inch of wall space. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. And that’s just the beginning.
We were drawn to this place because it was featured in CNBC’s top 10 Happy Hours in the Nation. You buy one beverage of choice as your entry into the happy hour and then over 50 menu items most under $7 each are yours for the picking. On the happy hour menu you’ll find Sinister Fried Pacific Shrimp, Crab Ravigote over Fried Green Tomatoes, Fresh Oysters on the Half Shell, Cauliflower Soup with Dungeness Crab, Crawfish Beignets, and Spicy Lamb Sliders.
Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 6pm and then opens up again with a late night happy hour from 10pm to 1am. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, and everything is delicious. There are some caveats you should be mindful of, for one there are no substitutions, no separate checks, and the happy hour menu is not available for takeout. But don’t worry all that means is that you should come, bring some good friends, and plan to stay a while. Plus you’ll want to go so you can try everything on the menu.
