Tina Belcher Burgers Out at the Punch Bowl Social Cartoon Bash

I love a good reason to dress up, and when I heard that Punch Bowl Social was hosting a Punch Bowl Social Cartoon Bash Halloween Party, I knew I had to be there!

I live in the North part of town, so I’ve really been enjoying all the development in North Austin because there are great restaurants, bars, and a night life scene that (in my opinion) rivals Downtowns.

My costume this year was one I had been thinking about for a while, it wasn’t elaborate or overly thought out. I just knew that I could channel my inner teen nerdy girl and go as everyone’s favorite Bob’s Burgers character, Tina Belcher.

It was a fairly simple Halloween costume, I owned the converse and wore my own glasses. I did have to purchase the socks, shirt, skirt, and wig but thanks to Goodwill I was able to get everything at a reasonable price.  My sister decided to be a “Real Housewives of Bedrock”, Wilma Flinstone, and really just wanted to wear a fun color wig. I don’t blame her.

Part of the Punch Bowl Social Cartoon Bash festivities included a cartoon costume contest, $5 Halloween themed shots, a DJ spinning tunes, and a special Halloween pumpkin punch. They had their regular activities available like bowling, karaoke rooms, arcade games, foosball and ping pong. It also happened to be the same night as a World Series Game, so there were plenty of TV’s around for people to keep up with the game too.

We had a lane to bowl, and we quickly joined in by starting the night off with some shots. The flavors were Purple People Eater Shots, made with Effen Blood Orange, Chambord, citrus syrup and lemon juice. And the Green Monster made with Effen Green Apple, allspice dram, cinnamon syrup and lemon juice. The Green Monster tasted exactly like Apple Pie,  which made them delicious and dangerous!

It was such a blast, not everyone was in costume, but of the people who dressed up, they brought their A-Game. We saw costumes from Goosebumps, Stranger Things, Pokemon, Hocus Pocus, and I even ran into a couple dressed as Tina’s parents, Bob and Linda Belcher!

And no night would be complete without a burger since I was a character from Bob’s Burgers after all. It was the perfect way to celebrate Halloween and we made some new friends along the way thanks to the costume contest. The drinks were good, the music was loud and we partied our way into the night!
