Sway Austin 3 Year Anniversary, Celebrates With Special Menu.
Happy Saturday, and Happy 3 year anniversary to Sway Austin!
The Australian Thai fusion restaurant is my favorite place to eat in Austin. And their special menu was nothing short of wonderful. I got a chance to eat my way through the menu last night and wanted to share the experience with you. It was the last night to enjoy this menu before these dishes disappear.
To celebrate 3 years, Sway featured seven dishes each distinct but telling a story of Executive Chef Martin Wilda.
All of the dishes on the special menu were delicious. Our pallets were wowed by the spicy and sweet flavors we’ve come to know and love from Sway. But some of our favorites were the koi pla, with an earthy and spicy flavor this one injected a lot of kick into one bite. We loved the singha battered frog legs. The green onion sauce was perfect and the tapioca pearls gave it another dimension of texture. Plus the lime drizzle on top and you’ve got an amazing dish.
Whether you’re a pig ear lover, or want some roasted eggplant with a curry glaze, you’ll enjoy exploring this special menu. (Word on the street it’s the same base for the jungle curry = hot hot hot.)
And you all know my weakness for desserts. We couldn’t pick between the chai tow kway and the brioche, they both tasted amazing. The carrot cake had a good spice and the crunch of the candied walnuts made this easily one of my favorite carrot cakes ever. And the brioche with poached apples and rum soaked raisins was not only beautiful to look at, but a great dessert to share.
The restaurant just announced earlier this year that they are expanding with two new locations (Domain and Westlake). More opportunities for this girl to dine at Sway no matter what part of town I’m in.
Hope you made it in to celebrate with Sway Austin on a very happy 3 year anniversary, and tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
