Why: On a quest to find the best brunch spots in Austin, I was introduced to Revelry Kitchen and Bar. A new spot that opened up on East Sixth with lots of great indoor and outdoor space perfect for kicking back with your friends. I love it because it’s the perfect location for really anything that you’re up to. I’ve gone there for happy hour, late night drinks with friends, to watch a sports game, and most recently, to partake in their Sunday Funday brunch!

From 11am-4pm every Sunday, you can get $5 bloody mary bar, $3 sangria, or $10 for a carafe of mimosas! Pair those excellent drink specials with their dishes and you’ve got one badass brunch spot going on.

My sister is my partner in crime, so of course, she and I decided we had to tackle this place together. We started by ordering a drink off the brunch cocktail menu, a lavender pisco sour. And she went with a mimosa. One thing’s for sure, the drinks always taste great and are reasonably priced.

For the food, we decided to order a few things so I could get a sense of what they featured on their menu. We had the Ribeye Hash Skillet, and some brisket toast, which both were excellent, but I’m partial to a skillet hash and this one was one of the better ones I’ve had. But two of the outstanding dishes that I would say you can not pass up are the Scotch Egg, which I had never had before but since we were here to be adventurous, I gave it a go. It was absolutely delicious, a sausage patty wrapped around a soft boiled egg and covered in a cilantro cream sauce. Just looking at the photo makes me wish I had a plate of it in front of me.

And I’m a really big, like huge, fan of their chicken lollipop wings. And highly recommend you get an order of their wings alone any time you come in. Heck, I go there for the wings! But for brunch, they do a wings and waffles dish and it is as delicious as one would think pairing their yummy wings with buttery waffles and whipped cream.

This is a restaurant I will come back to again and again, and I hope when you go visit them next you’ll let them know Dine With Shayda sent you!
