Shack 512 Serves Lake Views and Sunsets

Who: Shack 512 What: Lake Travis Dining When: Monday to Thursday 4pm – 9pm, Friday to Saturday 11am – 10pm, Sunday 11am – 9pm Where: 8714 Lime Creek Road Volente, Texas 78641 (adjacent to Sandy Creek Yacht Club and Marina) Why: Here in Central Texas, the weather stays mild year round. I happened to have grown up going to Sandy Creek Marina, so I was very well versed in the location, and they’ve just outdone themselves in transforming the restaurant into what it is today. Between the hospitality, the service, and the delicious food, it was a bonus that the restaurant sat so close to the lake. The food is a mix between upscale bar food and southern comfort food. It’s extremely flavorful and packs a kick– with many of the dishes incorporating jalapenos. Some of my favorite dishes were the bacon wrapped shrimp, the fried green beans, and the steak kabobs. Another do not miss dish, the s’mores boat! It added a romantic and fun flare that helped wrap up our whole experience.…
