Athletic Outcomes Address: 2301-A E Riverside Dr #300, Austin, TX 78741 What makes a great workout? You want something challenging, but yet also something that makes you feel good. If you don’t enjoy the type of workout you’re doing, then it’s not going to be something that you’re able to sustain longterm. And isn’t that the point? To build a lifestyle around fitness rather than just trying to exercise for a fragment in time to lose weight for an event, or to get fit just for the summer? And as someone who has struggled with a fitness routine for the last decade or so, I get it. It is hard. I think that’s why the most important piece about building a healthy relationship with fitness is trying to find what works for you. For me, things didn’t click until Athletic Outcomes. And the reality is that every body is different and every routine therefore is going to need to be tweaked to be something that is right for you. Growing up I was a competitive swimmer, so for one, I was used to really intense and grueling workouts, but as a compliment to my in water training, we also had dry land training which usually involved a lot of weights and athletic movements. But that was a long time ago, so when I was getting myself back into a rhythm of working out, I tried what feels to be everything. Yoga, Spin, Pilates, Bootcamps, indoor, outdoors, heavy weights, body weights, and while I gained an appreciation for everything I tried, for my body the one thing that was showing progress was lifting heavy weights.
