Keeping Austin Joyous with O’Joy Organic Juice and Yogurt
O’Joy doesn’t just stand for Organic Juice Organic Yogurt, it’s the inspiration behind this socially conscious company. Not only is everything on their menu made with organic and local ingredients, they also believe that food shouldn’t just taste good, it should be good for your body. And for every item purchased, one is donated to a child in need as part of their mission to do good. Right now they’re partnering with No Kid Hungry and Rice Bowl and have donated over 10,000 meals!
O’Joy is run by Michael and Ghena, the husband and wife duo behind this delicious Organic juice bar. Their store is located in North Austin at 11101, Burnet Rd. Suite 140. Making it a perfect stop if you’re heading to and from the Domain.
Eating Organically isn’t just a new food fad, it actually promotes better health. The veggies and fruits aren’t grown with pesticides, and free of neurotoxins that can cause damage to brain and nerve cells. Making the foods grown Organically higher in nutrients—vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and micronutrients—than commercially grown foods because the soil is managed and nourished with sustainable practices by responsible standard.
So it’s a no-brainer to want to eat organically, it tastes better and it is better for you.
On the menu, you’ll find smoothies like the Berrytown Springs, made with Organic Strawberry, Organic Blueberry, Organic Raspberry, Organic Cherry, Organic Pomegranate, Organic Orange Juice. And the Capitol Carrot, made with Organic Carrot, Organic Ginger, Local Habanero Pepper, Organic Apple Juice.
I also got to try their coffee drink Rise N’ Grind, made with Organic Banana, Organic Date, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Peanut Butter, Organic Almond Milk and Local Cuvee Coffee Grinds. It’s like a sweet coffee smoothie perfect for anytime you need an extra boost!
Everything at O’Joy is delicious, but I’m most excited for their summer menu! It will feature a Wondermelon Joy Bowl, Dragon Island Smoothie, and Summer Prepearation Yogurt. They’re all too good to pass up so go check this place out next time you’re in the neighborhood!
