Moojo -an all natural,  joy inspiring ice cream sandwich shop.

Y’all know how much I love ice cream and cookies, so when I got a chance to try Moojo I was pretty much in heaven.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Moojo stands for Moments Of Joy, and they truly want you to feel joyous eating their product. This gourmet ice cream shop opened up on the University of Texas campus in the summer of 2015, and they’ve been inspiring their customers ever since.

The idea is the brainchild of Matthew Petersen, his wife Ashley, and Matt Weldon. The friends were inspired by the Austin food scene and had an idea for a gourmet ice cream shop dishing up all natural treats. They they soon packed their bags and moved to our fair city.

They really wanted the experience of ice cream and cookies to be as good for you as it could be. Indulging doesn’t mean you have to consume lots of processed food in the process.

So Moojo was born. They offer their signature ice cream sandwiches, made with homemade ice cream and house baked cookies. The cookies were warm, and delicious. It’s pretty hard to resist them! You can take it to go, or my choice– would be to hangout in their hip storefront equipped with swinging benches inside!! They have a grand neon sign saying “Moments of Joy” and a hidden wall mural reading “I found my Moojo in Austin.”

Some of the homemade ice cream flavors

On the menu are cookies, including White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Butter Sugar, and Rocky Road. Ice cream including Salted Caramel Pretzel, Mint Chip, and Coffee Chip. They make Cookie Shakes, which are just what you’d expect. Shakes with cookies in them! You can order ice cream sandwiches, or just cookies, or scoops of ice cream. Pretty much everything on their menu is fair game, just ask!

I loved my trip to Moojo. It really brought a smile to my face. It was a whimsical place, with yummy ice cream and cookies.

Plus they support the Austin community by volunteering with Austin Pets Alive and Mobile Loaves and Fishes.

So I hope you’ll go venture out. There is parking on the street, and free 30 minute parking at the San Antonio Garage. And when you go, remember to tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
