Mighty Fine -classic Texas burger joint founded in Austin.
Mighty Fine Burgers Fries and Shakes is a classic Texas burger joint founded in Austin in 2007. It is tied for one of my favorite fast- but not fast food- burgers in Austin and they have locations all over the Austin Area. I usually enjoy Mighty Fine when I’m at the Arbor Walk in North Austin or at The Round Rock Outlet Mall. But you can’t go wrong with any of their locations, as the quality is consistent across their brand.
When you walk in you are immediately greeted by their servers who all have a happy friendly go lucky attitude, and without fail 99% of the time they always ask how my day is going. It is that sweet southern charm that makes coming here all the more sweeter. They also have a really simple menu which starts off with 1/2 or 1/4, type of meat, and then Red, Yeller or White for Ketchup, Mustard or Mayo, and then you can add or subtract fixins like Pickles, Onions, Lettuce and Tomato. Lastly do you want fries or onion rings, it is that simple!
For me it is all about the burger and fries, and so I typically get my burger the same (the way I like it pickles and ketchup) so I always know how to compare it to others around me. Sure every now and then I go for a deluxe burger with all the fixins, but my tried and true is simple. Also their fries, they have a crinkle cut machine where they hand cut all the fries on their own in a nice giant window for all to see (As well as watch them prepare the rest of your fresh meal!)
These days most restaurants have a secret menu, well at Mighty Fine it’s called a Locals Menu and it isn’t so secret. My personal favorite is the order of Fring, half onion rings half crinkle cut fries. I also love to pair any meal with one of their fresh squeezed strawberry lemonades, it just hits the spot.
After we place our order, we are handed a tracking device so the meal is brought straight out to your table. You are encouraged to use their hand washing machines sort of like a washing machine for your hands (30 seconds) and out come your clean hands! We look around for a place to seat along the red chaired and blue checkered tablecloths to wait for our divine meal.
The place is always clean and open so we don’t mind the casual laid back atmosphere. As we find some seats our meal is brought out to us piping hot and fresh off the grill– just how I like it!
If you go, please tell them Dine With Shayda sent you! And let me know what you think @dinewithshayda.
It’s a simple and consistently good meal. I always know what I’m going to get, and if you are in a rush it is a quick in and out (just be mindful if it’s around lunch there can be a line). With all the Austin locations, there is usually one close by, and if not– you can always Favor it!
