Cafe No Se Austin -cozy bright cafe in the South Congress Hotel.
I’m no stranger to Café No Sé Austin, in fact I’m a frequent visitor who has an affinity for their in house baked goods and sweets. And when a dear friend suggested we try them for lunch, I had to oblige.
Café No Sé has this rustic but modern charm, and in the day time the whole dining room is lit up by beautiful natural light. We settled down in a booth by the big window. Everything in this restaurant evokes comfort. There are even purposeful plugs placed throughout so people feel like they can sit, work and dine. Much like a casual coffee shop, except at Café No Sé you get to do it with Baba Ghanoush and Ricotta Dumpling Soup.
For lunch I had been wanting to try their Milk Braised Pork sandwich, and I had to get a side of their famous malt fries. The sandwich was the perfect lunch combination, light and filling. It was especially elevated with mustard fruit jam and ricotta cheese, so good!
And because I didn’t fill up on lunch, I had room for some of Amanda Rockman’s wonderful treats. They make their ice cream in house, so I went with a scoop of gooey butter cake (YUM!) and a coconut sorbet. But the real treat was the Pineapple Meringata which is a merengue shell over a scoop of ice cream topped with tarragon and coconut. It was really fun to crack it open and see the beautiful dessert prepared inside.
They are open everyday for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch 7am to 10pm and Thursday- Saturday till midnight. Which gives you plenty of time to go try this new eatery out.
So go! And let me know what you think. What is your favorite dessert from Café No Sé?
I’m building a short list of mine 🙂 And remember when you go to tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
