La Patisserie -French baked goods are the name of the game.
It’s not often that you find a French cafes in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. But in Pflugerville, tucked into an unassuming storefront, French baked goods are the name of the game. I’m pretty confident the owner is from France, either that or she’s studied the food enough to recreate it for us in her shop called La Patisserie. There are croissants, crepes, croque madames, macarons and so much more… but that should be enough to get you enticed.
The restaurant is petit, and very much ‘what you see is what you get.’ But good thing. The view is appetizing and with one step inside you’re transformed to cafe in Paris. Close your eyes and inhale. Smells like baked goods, smells like good food. And when we arrived, nearly all the seats were taken and we had to wait for a table to be cleared before we could be seated. Everyone had beautifully simple dishes on their tables and we knew we would be in for a sweet French treat.
Everything we had was good. From the open faced croque madame paired with a side salad, to the spinach, bacon and cheese quiche. Everything was made from scratch in the kitchen, and was made with love. You could tell the owner put her heart and soul into this place. And the food was full of it in every bite.
I loved it so much, and hope you will too. Go in for breakfast, a quick lunch, or to pick up a box of treats on your way home. Be sure to check them out, and tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
