Why: What’s Sunday Funday without a little brunch action? And when your friend Kristin of FoodFash invites you to a fun-filled brunch with a few of your fellow foodie friends, you know we’re about to get into some trouble.

Juniper is located on East Cesar Chavez, it’s a modern and bright Northern Italian restaurant that offers a Sunday Brunch that is probably one of the best brunches in Austin. They offer complimentary valet, but you’ll also find plenty of street parking aligning the neighboring streets. You can opt to sit inside, at the chefs table which lets you peer right into the kitchen, or on the patio.

Because we were there for a large group brunch, and we’re all bloggers, we wanted to take advantage of the overcast lighting that we were graced with that day. We’re all friends, so events like this are so much fun for us because we get to catch up, and let loose with people who are going to jump up on the chairs for the perfect shot with you.

We grabbed our seats and let the show begin. They were sending out two of everything. We started with sweet dishes like ricotta and tangerine bruschetta, and poppyseed and Meyer lemon coffee cake. But then moved into savory apps like the puffy potatoes, which are whipped potatoes shaped into tater tot size bites and fried to an airy perfection. Those are offered on their menu all the time, so you can be sure to take advantage of that whenever you want to.

For our mains, some of the things that really caught my attention were:

The baked eggs, which essentially was a red and green sauce swirl covering the baked eggs and spread on top of crunchy toast made for the perfect dipping pair.

Fresh milled polenta, made with this beautiful 6-minute egg that every bite was the perfect balance of savory to the polenta which had a nice smooth, creamy texture.

and the Texas Pecan Pancakes were just picture perfect and finger licking good, I practically licked the plate clean.

To be honest, there wasn’t anything on that menu that I didn’t like. Everything was well portioned and offered a lot of variety depending what your palate prefers.

We were all having the time of our lives, the food presentation is so beautiful and just speaks for itself. But with each dish that would arrive, we would all scurry around to go pose the dish against the right backdrops and lights. Even pulling in the waiters and waitresses to help hand model the dishes for us.

It’s what we do, we love to eat the food of course, but part of our passion is in getting the perfect shot, so YOU will want to go eat it too.

I encourage you to go give my friends at Juniper a hello and try to visit them for brunch service because this menu really is out of this world.
