Who: General Tso’Boy
What: American Chinese Sandwiches and fries
Where: Rock Rose at The Domain – 11501 Rock Rose, Suite 152, Austin, TX 78758
Why: Chinese Po-Boy sandwiches! It’s brilliant and is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Gary and Jessica Wu. Once a flea market pop up in New York City, the concept gave rise to a popular fast casual restaurant that recently opened up its first location in Austin.
The eatery is located within The Domain’s new Rock Rose district, making it a perfect stop when you’re shopping nearby, or if you happen to be lucky to live or work in the neighborhood. They will be open for lunch and dinner serving po-boys made with fresh ingredients that come sourced from their farmers and will make sauces and spice salts from scratch in their kitchen.
On the menu will be their signature General Tso’s Chicken Sandwich, it’s spicy, but full of flavor and was just as good as you’d think a Chinese sandwich would be! There will also be a Black Peppered Beef, Char Sui Pulled Pork, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and a Mapu Tofu sandwiches. You can also order Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, and Szechuan Fries. The Peppercorn in the Szechuan fries will numb your mouth so be forewarned. But it’s a good pain, so good I went back for seconds!
You’ll be able to order a fresh seasonal wok-seared vegetable, sesame salad, and homemade soft-serve. It’s so good, so be sure to go see them soon and tell them Dine With Shayda sent you! And follow me on Instagram and Snapchat at @DineWithShayda for my daily food adventures.
