Farm to Fork -serving up local food from local farmers.
I had always heard good things about Farm to Fork, and so one weekend I decided to take my family out to lunch. This is in their part of town (Leander, TX, close to Cedar Park) and we were delighted at what we found.
The restaurant, which is the heart and soul of Chef Shelley Pogue, is a breath of fresh air in Leander. Their focus is farm to table; sourcing ingredients that are simple, organic and locally grown.
And don’t worry, Farm to Fork specializes in elevated comfort food, made with the best ingredients. So my sister can feel better about eating the cobb salad, and I can enjoy a delicious bacon grilled cheese sandwich.
Once inside you’ll be taken to afternoons spent at your grandmas house. Big wooden tables and chairs for seating. Quirky art hung all around. And the intimate feel when you’re getting ready to eat some really good food from good people.
As I get older, I find myself enjoying the slower pace of living in the suburbs of Austin. But I always struggle with the quality of food I will find. I think there is a changing tide, and it’s prevalent with restaurants like Farm to Fork bringing a great concept to life through great food in Leander, Texas.
If you’re in the area and you’ve yet to try them, I suggest making plans as soon as possible. They’re open every day except Sunday’s and Monday’s. You can also order to go, or hire them to cater your events.
