The League Kitchen and Tavern sophisticated comfort food.
In need of a good meal on our way to a friend’s wedding, we discovered The League Kitchen & Tavern. We’re familiar with the Avery Ranch area where Cedar Park and Austin meet, since it’s down the road from where we’re about to move to. For whatever reason (because y’all know I am always trying new places in the suburbs) we just hadn’t made it over yet. So when the stars aligned, we decided to check this place out and what we discovered is enough to keep us happy customers with our new neighborhood favorite.
Whether you live in the area or are curious for yourself, this is one to add to your list of places to give a visit to. I think you’ll find the menu comforting yet elevated, and the atmosphere is upscale with a twist of comfort.
We went in for a late lunch, but they offer Brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30am- 2:00pm. And while we could have gone for their lunch menu (We decided to save that for another trip) since they were still offering brunch, their brunch menu had piqued our interest.
They offer a build your own Omelette Bar ($9) and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Grits ($12), but we thought we would go with their $5 snacks and order a variety so we could try a few things. Off the snack menu we had 2x Eggs Benedict with thick cut riddled ham, because my boyfriend and I both love them so much we can’t share and we’re glad we got two! A Truffle Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, yes I said that correct, it was divine. And a Jalapeño Gravy covered Biscuit, which was also good but the Truffle Chicken one took the cake.
Because we were about to go to a Wedding Ceremony we saved the $3 Mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s for another time.
We really enjoyed our time at The League Kitchen & Tavern. The big comfy booths, and a nice decor with a speakeasy vibe to it. It feels like a cool hip downtown restaurant tucked away in the suburbs.
We will definitely be back, especially since on Monday nights they offer buy one get one free burgers. So go, eat, drink, be merry, and tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
