Bribery Bakery Mueller – ambiance, baked goods, and booze.
Bribery Bakery is a name Austinites already know and love. The bakery, conceptualized by Austin chef Jodi Elliot, specializes in popovers, pastries, cakes, savory baked goods and now cocktails. And now at Bribery Bakery Mueller.
While their original location has been growing a cult following in Wells Branch, the dream was always to open up a boozy bakery in Austin. That dream has become a reality for Elliot and her team. She now brings her breakfast, dessert and coffee to Bribery Bakery Mueller.
Opening up shop in Mueller is the perfect backdrop for this Bribery Bakery. The storefront is vibrant and is a great indication of the whimsy you’ll find when you walk inside. Big neon lights draw you in spelling out Bribery Bakery with a heart connecting the words spanning the walls and ceiling. Then there’s furniture that feels like a nod to a vintage era paired with accents like big golden letters reading “Eat Dessert First,” the vibe is playful with shades of pink.
On the menu, you can expect to see a robust offering evolve from their known cakes plus a large selection of cookies and brownies. Breakfast features pastries, quiches, breakfast biscuits with eggs, ham and cheese. Lunch will include savory dishes like chicken and dumplings, and a dinner menu which will offer small bites like popovers, meat boards and cheese plates. Right now they are doing a soft opening with limited hours. Not offering dinner at the moment while they test out a few last minute things. So you should check their Facebook, Instagram or give them a call before you head over.
When you make it over you will be delighted with big beautiful displays of all the cakes, pastries and pop overs, which rotate depending on what’s in season or what holiday is coming up. Since it’s February there were extra special nods to love and Valentines Day whether it was using heart shaped sprinkles, or pink iced cookies. I love how Bribery Bakery celebrates the holidays and am always amused at the shapes, decorations and flavors they come up with!
On todays trip we kept it simple with a famous Jodi Elliot popover with honey butter for smearing. And because I’ve been dying to have one of their poptarts, the moment I saw the homemade raspberry one covered in sprinkles, I knew it would be a great treat to try.
The thing I love most about this Bribery Bakery is that it’s a little bit more naughty than the Wells Branch location. Don’t get me wrong, the original has class and charm, and is the reason I go to Bribery today, it’s so good. But this new one has such an electrifying tone to it that makes you want to get a little bit of everything as to not miss a beat. Ambiance, baked goods, and booze makes for a great combination.
So come check it out! Whether you’re picking things up to go, or you plan to sit and eat I think you can find a few reasons to make Bribery Bakery one of your new favorite places to dine.
If you go, please tell them Dine With Shayda sent you! And let me know what your favorite thing to eat was @dinewithshayda. I can’t wait to go back and get some of their sugar cookies, they’re the best in town!
