Bribery Bakery -modern, chic and delicious bakery.

Bribery Bakery is the brainchild of Austin pastry chef and restauranteur, Jodi Elliott. What began as a Saturday pop up bakery at her restaurant, Foreign & Domestic quickly grew into a modern, chic and delicious bakery for all to enjoy.

Elliott opened her first location in a shopping center in North Austin’s Wells Branch area earlier this year. It has become a nice addition to the neighborhood for locals serving cakes, pies, pastries, popovers as well as a full service coffee bar with lattes and cappuccinos.

There are plans to open a second location in Mueller, and to offer a full service bar!

For me, I grew up in Austin playing in Wells Branch. My best friend lived around the corner from where Bribery Bakery resides, and I spent many summers at the pool down the street.

Now as an adult, I bought my first home just a 5 min drive away, and I pass by Bribery Bakery all the time.

It is such a joy to have a treasure like this in North Austin in the Wells Branch area, and I think Elliott has found a little piece of gold.

The outside to some is yes, a suburban shopping strip, but inside the space is transformed. Bright playful colors, light pouring in, and the space is huge with a fully exposed kitchen. If you’re lucky you’ll spot Elliott as she pipes a fresh batch of shortbread cookies.

Because Bribery Bakery is so close, I find myself there a lot. Like every Sunday morning it’s like you don’t even have to ask me, I’m there. But the great thing is they are constantly making new treats to display in their colorful display cases.

I love seeing what they’ve come up with for the day, and also knowing I can get some of my tried and true favorites.

Ham, Egg, and Cheddar Biscuits and Chocolate Walnut Zucchini Bread

It’s a perfect place to pop in for a box of pastries to go, or to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a cupcake with a friend. They really offer so many things, it is hard to pass up an opportunity to go to Bribery.

I’ve been bringing my friends every chance I get because since it is more up north I can lure them over with sweet Bribery Bakery treats. We both end up winning!

Some of my favorite things they make: The Strawberry Lemon Cake, Pineapple Brown Butter Brownies, Cinnamon Rolls,  oh and the sweet sprinkled sugar cookies from the jar.

But then again, everything is so good here, it is hard just trying to pick one favorite thing.

Sometimes it really is hard to pick just one or two treats, so you end up with a box.

Oh by the way, if you go there and there is a junkbox cookies, take it, and take 3 of them! It’s a mixture of potato chips, sprinkles, caramel, chocolate, you dream it, they put it in there and it is addictive.

A big thank you again to the team at Bribery Bakery, thanks for always being so friendly, and for crafting up some of the best treats in Austin. Oh and for putting you flagship store just around the corner 🙂 See you Sunday morning!

Whether you live near or far to Bribery, make a trek, it is worth it. And don’t forget, Elliott is opening up Bribery Bakery number 2 over in the Mueller development next.
