Sports Bar with Elevated Menu
Who doesn’t love a good burger and a beer while you’re about to cheer on your favorite sports team? How about a place where you can get Asian style ribs and a summer cocktail while the fight is on the big screen. Or maybe Risotto is more your style with a glass of wine.
At BaseCamp, you can do just that. The project is led by some of Austin’s restaurant scenes brightest players and they’ve teamed up to bring to you this hip bar space that is as casual or fancy as you want to be.
From Austinite Real Estate Developer Chad Barrett (Founding Partner) and hospitality veteran Dan Wyman (General Manager and Partner) BaseCamp will serve creative bar fare and classic cocktails seven days a week. Pair that with Executive Chef Eric Kuypers, formerly of Uchi and Peached Tortilla and you know you’ll be in for a great experience.
With such a wide range of cocktails and alcoholic beverages there will be something for everyone. They’ve got a full bar and offer both specialty cocktails, but also lots of great beers on tap.
From the kitchen you can expect to see menu staples as well as rotating items. The 50/50 burger made with Tender Belly Farms bacon and white cheddar on a house made poppy seed Kaiser roll was a hit of the night for me. Another favorite was the Shrimp and Jalapeno Hushpuppies with Cajun remoulade. They were so crunchy and hit the spot just right!
There are 13 televisions, which will feature seasonal sports, along with private rooms where guests can control what is viewed. Happy hour is available Monday – Friday, 4 to 6:30 p.m. with $6 glasses of wine, half-price beer, $6 wells and 50% off bar food.
With the accessibility of a sports bar, but the quality of a fine dining restaurant, I know that whatever BaseCamp does will be great. They’ve built a comfortable, thought out space that leverages multiple seating styles and allows you to wine and dine yourself on delicious drinks and eats.
